Adult Summer Learn to Curl / Fall Learn to Curl– Registered, no curling experience required
If you are brand new to curling, this class is for you!  We will cover the basics over 5 weeks. Each week will build on the skills that you learned the prior week, and wrapping up with a fun game.

Fall Green Horn League - Registered, participation in a Learn to Curl program recommended, basic curling experience required
Green Horn is a beginner league meant for participants from our August/September Learn to Curl sessions, or 0-3 years curling experience.  If you have always wanted to join a league but felt intimidated because you are a beginner curler, this is the perfect place for you!
Instructor assisted games where you will play with different players each week, and different positions.  In this league you will advance your knowledge of strategy, team positions, and player roles.  After participating in this league you should have the confidence to join a regular curling league!

Summer League – Open format (any combination of genders/ages, curling experience is required)
Be a part of Cochrane’s first ever Summer Curling League!  If you are just looking to get a few games in before your regular league starts, or if you aren’t playing in a league this year but want a short commitment to try out a team, this league is for you!  Any skill level is welcome, we will ask you to rank your teams’ skill level and try to make sure you are playing against evenly matched teams.

Register as a team, limited to 12 teams unless there is significant interest then we will add a second draw.  Games will start at 6:30pm.
If a second draw is added it will start at 8:45pm.

6 Pack League – Registered, no curling experience required but recommended
Looking for a winter activity that doesn’t require a big time commitment?  Something that you or you and your spouse can get out of the house but don’t need to hire a babysitter for?  Join our beginner/intermediate “Date Night” Curling league!  One Saturday night/month, each night will have a different theme, and your kids will hang out with the other kids and have a movie night in the multi-purpose room.  You will play 6 Games over 6 Months, games will be 6 Ends (approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours)

Register as a team, or Register Individually and we will put you on a team

Fall Youth Curling – Registered, no curling experience required
For ages 7-15, each week kids will be working on skills and drills over 5 sessions, and playing fun games.  This is an introduction to curling designed for beginner youth.  No curling experience is required.  Sliders and brooms will be provided.  Helmets are required for youth 12yrs and under.

Summer Stick Curling – Drop in Sessions, no curling experience required
Have you wanted to try curling but have bad knees or a bad back and worry if you got down in a curling slide you wouldn’t get back up?  Come try your hand at Stick Curling!  Curling is a very versatile sport and can be modified to give everyone, of any age a way to enjoy the game.  You will learn tips on how to deliver a curling rock with a delivery stick and play games.  This is Instructor led, where you can ask questions, receive assistance on strategy, and learn different formats of the game that can be played with various numbers of people.  Most importantly, have fun and be safe.

Delivery Sticks will be provided

Family Beginner Learn to Curl Lessons/game - Drop in to one of  our Open Houses! Check the website for drop in times!
This will be a fun introduction to the game where you can bring the whole family.  Instructor led, each day the program will vary based on number of participants.   6:30pm start time for each day.

Individual/Small group lessons – 1-4 people, registered with instructor, for Intermediate/Advanced curlers
Sessions can be tailored based on the needs of the learner.  A 15min orientation with the instructor/coach is recommended where you can discuss what you are looking to improve, then the coach can put together a plan and a few drills that you will work on in the lesson.

Curling equipment will be provided for all SLS FSC registered or Drop-in programs (broom, slider).  You will need to bring clean sneakers with you to wear on the ice (rubber soled is best), and comfy warm clothing, jeans are not recommended unless they are stretchy.  A hat and mittens/gloves that have grip to the palms are suggested, but not necessary.  Helmet’s are recommended for every new curler, and mandatory for kids 12yrs and under.
